About Bucheon Kumho Richensia Tower 1

The design intent for these twin towers was to break free from the typical square or rectilinear plan form of residential buildings and create a unique fa├žade. To find the form of the towers, spaces were prioritized and organized in terms of program, views, and daylight requirements. A plan shape that resembles a five-pointed star was chosen, giving the buildings a unique and flowing elevational experience.

The site of the residential complex was planned to form a unique environment for its residents: two parks which flank the site were connected through landscaping, creating an uninterrupted garden that flows between and around the buildings. Retail spaces are located at the periphery of the site and below ground to serve the building occupants. The landscaping of the gardens continues up the towers to planted roof gardens on the third floors of each tower. Finally, a sky lounge located on the 63rd floor of the tower offers wide views of the surrounding city.
