About United States Federal Courthouse

The United States Courthouse is located on a full city block (2.07 acres) in downtown Seattle on a site that was previously used as a parking lot. The 23-story, 615,000 square foot facility houses the U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington, including 13 District courtrooms; five bankruptcy courtrooms; 22 judicial chambers suites; and facilities for the District Clerk, Bankruptcy Clerk, United States Attorney, and various court-related agencies. To conform to the 30-year expansion plan, it was required that space be available for a total of 25 courtrooms and 29 judges’ chambers. The site also includes a one-acre outdoor plaza.
