Usually involved in the front end design, with a "typical" condition being that of a leadership role through either Schematic Design or Design Development, and then a monitoring role through the CD and CA phases.
The Design Engineer is usually involved in the front end design, typically taking the leadership role in the Schematic Design and Design Development, and then a monitoring role through the CD and CA phases.
The main contractor is the supervisory contractor of all construction work on a project, management of sub-contractors and vendors, etc. May be referred to as "Construction Manager," however, for consistency CTBUH uses the term "Main Contractor" exclusively.
Other Consultant refers to other organizations which provided significant consultation services for a building project (e.g. wind consultants, environmental consultants, fire and life safety consultants, etc).
Magma Towers is a residential project located in the exclusive area of Valle Oriente, Monterrey, Mexico, consisting of two towers containing apartments, mounted over a two-level commercial base. The two dark gray towers have a somewhat monolithic appearance, which is enlivened by the faceted geometry of the façade. The space that separating the two towers at the lobby level contains most of the amenities, such as the swimming pool, bar, gym, green roof garden, as well as other common areas.
The rhythm of the façade pattern was randomized, but was corralled so that it could fit economically into the suspended façade system, and adjusted to suit the wide variations in floor plan demanded by the program. The subtractions in the façade generate balconies for the apartments they adjoin. Inside, the program is highly varied among housing configurations, with some units having balconies, some without, double-height penthouses are interlocked with standard one- and two-bedroom apartments.
