The CTBUH lists a project manager when a specific firm has been commissioned to oversee this aspect of a tall building’s design/construction. When the project management efforts are handled by the developer, main contract, or architect, this field will be omitted.
Each tower floor is turned a few degrees around a central axis, affording all 58 apartments spectacular views. Generous balconies around the perimeter extend living areas out in all directions; the soft play of lines lending the tower its distinctive image. The contrast between orthogonally ordered internal spaces and the “organic” design of the perimeter balconies provides an interesting visual tension and adds to the spatial experience of the interiors.
The building superstructure is a reinforced in-situ concrete skeleton. All floor slabs are flat, without downstands, with a maximum thickness of 26 cm (10 in). Given the unique shape of the tower, the supporting columns are not always directly above one another. Loads of some of the column sequences are transferred via shear walls and floor slabs back to the central core. In order to ensure the stability of the expressive cantilevered form of floor slabs, the balustrading also assumes a load-bearing function. In order to ensure a maximum flexibility for apartment layouts, additional large-scale openings are accommodated in a number of the shear walls between apartments.
