The CTBUH lists a project manager when a specific firm has been commissioned to oversee this aspect of a tall building’s design/construction. When the project management efforts are handled by the developer, main contract, or architect, this field will be omitted.
The main contractor is the supervisory contractor of all construction work on a project, management of sub-contractors and vendors, etc. May be referred to as "Construction Manager," however, for consistency CTBUH uses the term "Main Contractor" exclusively.
Material Supplier refers to organizations which supplied significant systems/materials for a building project (e.g. elevator suppliers, facade suppliers, etc).
The formal approach for West Pender Place was entirely based upon the restricted site and the view corridors of surrounding buildings. To meet the needs of the client while also responding to these constraints, the forms of the two towers (36 stories and 10 stories) were sculpted into a prismatic, faceted complex of folded planes and angled geometry. The form allows for each residential unit to have a slightly different plan, each with its own outward views of the surrounding context.
Great care was paid to the choice of materials and design of the cladding systems. Fritting and texturing were incorporated into the glazing, while an LED light art installation was implemented in the solid exposed cores. In addition, the building utilizes a geothermal heat-exchange system to decrease the use of external energy sources. The location of the building takes advantage of its surroundings, and promotes a pedestrian lifestyle through its proximity to key amenities.
