Motus Consult was founded by Brian Breukelman and Marty Deemter, driven by a simple philosophy: good engineering requires a big picture perspective. Their diverse expertise drives this vision - Brian comes from a structural engineering background, and has extensive experience on many notable projects, as well as experience in more niche areas such as wind engineering and damping systems. Marty comes from a building enclosure engineering background. Additionally, he also has many years experience working in construction and brings an excellent understanding of how engineering is applied practically.
Bringing these two different perspectives together has allowed them to consistently step outside of the box, bringing creativity and innovation to every project. At Motus Consult, we don’t just follow building codes; we think beyond them, and always ask why and how these codes can be applied in the best way for the current project. Our team combines structural and building envelope insights to create solutions that work for the entire project. We continue to live out this vision, hiring clever staff, and building teams with diverse expertise and backgrounds to ensure we are always delivering the best solutions for every project.

Please note that all heights shown in italics/red are estimated heights. These have been calculated based on known floor counts for the building, then extrapolated through analyzing typically hundreds of buildings of the same function on this database that do have confirmed heights. The user should be aware that non-standard building features, such as significant spires or raised entrances / podiums, may affect the accuracy of these estimations.
